This trait not only endears her to those around her but also demonstrates her love and passion for the game of golf. Her ability to maintain such a positive attitude, whether in practice or in the heat of competition, likely contributes to her success and resilience as a golfer. It’s clear that Myla’s cheerful nature is a significant part of her identity as an athlete and person.

EARLY LIFE & BACKGROUND

Born on February 2, 2010 in Riverside, California, she discovered her love for golf at a very young age, which was nurtured through her dedication and the supportive environment. Myla’s diverse background comes from her parents Vicente Robinson (father is of African American and Mexican descent) and Jennifer Tuiolosega Robinson (mother is of Samoan, Native Hawaiian and Chinese decent). She proudly celebrates all of her cultures at every opportunity. The Netflix documentary “The Short Game” played a pivotal role in inspiring Myla to take her golfing passion to the next level by competing in tournaments. This early start and dedication laid a solid foundation for her future in the sport, showing how significant early exposure and inspiration can be in shaping a young athlete’s career.

Myla comes from a family of seven and is the 2nd oldest of five children. All five children excel and compete in different sports including volleyball, golf, softball, beach volleyball, flag football and baseball. With three sisters and a younger brother, Myla is surrounded by sports and competition but growing up she was the only golfer at her school from pre-K to 8th grade. It is Myla’s appreciation and passion for golf that inspired her to start the foundation. Her goal is to introduce the game of golf to children through the foundation’s mission to promote health, wellness and education to sports minded individuals. Myla hopes to be the spark for others who would never see golf as an option for them.

EDUCATION

Myla is currently attending Orange Lutheran High School as a member of the Class of 2028, where she continues to balance her academic pursuits with her dedication to golf. She is bi-literate in Spanish and English, having completed a Spanish dual immersion academic program from kindergarten through middle school, where she maintained straight A’s. Myla’s future plans include competing as a student-athlete at the highest collegiate level and beyond!

FUTURE GOALS

Looking ahead, Myla aims to compete at the highest levels of golf while serving her community through the work she is doing to inspire youth who will benefit from exposure and support. She is committed to helping others realize the possibilities through hard work and dedication. By combining her passion for golf with a desire to contribute positively to the world, she will strive to help others in the same way she has been helped through golf!
